Downtown Cincinnati Lunch Project: Day 3
Mr. Sushi
Rating: B (Andy)
Ordered: Philly Rolls, Spicy Tuna Rolls, Chicken Fried Rice
I was not feeling very adventurous while ordering sushi. I went with the Philly Rolls and Spicy Tuna Rolls. The tuna in the last spicy tuna roll I ate was pretty mushy and I did not go back for the remaining one. The Philly roll seemed like it was just tuna and cream cheese, but appearently there was a sliver of vegetable in there too.
When you order an entree or $10 worth of sushi you get a soup and salad. The soup was pretty good but the salad was forgetable and no fork was provided (until I asked for one) so eating it with chopsticks made the whole thing pointless.
The Chicken Fried Rice was pretty good. There were several components and a little bit of heat to it. Unfortunately it seemed like the peas were from the freezer and were flavorless pockets of mush in an otherwise delicious dish.
Overall, I would say that I would like to try Mr. Sushi again. The staff was very freindly and courteous and there are other dishes on the menu I would like to try.

Downtown Cincinnati Lunch Project: Day 2
Mayberry
Rating: A+ (Andy)
Ordered: Ceasar Salad w/ Chicken
I got a text last night from my cousin, Sam. He wanted to meet for lunch and suggested Roly Poly. I thought I would introduce him to Mayberry instead. One must understand that I love Mayberry. It was a fantastic find that drew me in with the promise of Maple Sausage and Potato Soup and kept me coming back for every dish they offer. Since Mayberry has become on of the staple resturants on the weekly rotation it shouldn't really be included in the lunch project, but I figure it counts since I am introducing it to someone new and ordering something I have never ordered before.
Sam & Nora
Sam arrived downtown with his 6 month old daughter Nora. While I was excited to eat at Mayberry I never accounted for the fact that they lack highchairs. So no photos today as I was busy holding Nora while letting Sam eat. She behaved very well and enjoyed watching all the people in the resturant.
Hail Ceasar!
I had been wanting to order one of the two salads offered at Mayberry and since Sam went for the Chicken Ceasar, I did too...with anchovies. The greens were crisp and fresh, the chicken was great and the anchovies really made the salad.
Thanks again Mayberry, see you in a month!

Downtown Cincinnati Lunch Project: Day 1
Lunch on Main
Rating: A+(Andy)
Lunch on Main
Rating: A+(Andy)
Ordered: The Red Meat Sandwich
Walking down Main Street last week we noticed Lunch on Main had finally opened. I wasn't sure what kind of deli sandwiches we would find other than they featured Boar's Head, but I found myself drooling at the menu. I tried to order the Bleu Bison, but they hadn't made the Buffalo Chicken Salad yet :-(
I ended up going with my second choice: "The Red Meat". A rare roast beef with horseradish-scallion sauce, smoked gouda, onions and alfalfa sprouts. Absolutely delicious!
Can't wait to visit again and hopefully try the Bleu Buffalo.
Downtown Cincinnati Lunch Project
So it feels like lunchtime has fallen into a rut of trying to decide between the same five resturants. In order to break the monotony a co-worker and I drafted a list of resturants we would like to try and will be going to a different eatery each day for lunch until the end of February. We decided to share this experience with the world and so we are.
