Downtown Cincinnati Lunch Project: Day 1
Lunch on Main
Rating: A+(Andy)
Ordered: The Red Meat Sandwich

Walking down Main Street last week we noticed Lunch on Main had finally opened. I wasn't sure what kind of deli sandwiches we would find other than they featured Boar's Head, but I found myself drooling at the menu.  I tried to order the Bleu Bison, but they hadn't made the Buffalo Chicken Salad yet :-(

I ended up going with my second choice: "The Red Meat". A rare roast beef with horseradish-scallion sauce, smoked gouda, onions and alfalfa sprouts.  Absolutely delicious!
Can't wait to visit again and hopefully try the Bleu Buffalo.

At first, I had rolled my eyes at Lunch on Main's menu -- yet another gourmet sandwich shop? I tend to be a simple-sandwich man, especially when making my own.

I ordered the Main, and it seemed pretty complex -- pastrami, swiss cheese, red onion marmalade, roasted fennel and pepper gourmaise sauce on multigrain bread, according to the menu. All of those tastes condensed down into one delicious sandwich. Nothing seemed out of place, and I could barely talk while there was still sandwich left except to say how delicious it was.

I had grabbed a bag of Grippo's barbecue chips from the basket to go with lunch. I'll have to choose a higher-class potato chip next time.

And, oh, yes, there will be a next time.
